Troop 63 in Sudbury Massachusetts is a member of the Boy Scouts of America and Mayflower Council (JP Becker District). Our troop welcomes any youth who meets the age requirement to become a Boy Scout.
 

Our troop meetings are held on Thursday evenings, with a variety of fun activities which are planned and led by Scouts. Each weekly meeting may offer a different mix of activities to keep things interesting. Scouts will learn basic outdoor skills like how to pitch a tent, plan and cook a meal, and tie knots that stay put. They also watch movies or play video games during one of our popular Fun Night meetings.
 

Troop 63 activities include an exciting outdoor program with ten weekend outings each year which are selected by the Scouts. Some recent outings have been climbing at Mt. Lafayette, camping and hiking at Nobscot Reservation in Sudbury, Whitewater rafting in Caratunk Maine, biking trips on Cape Cod, ice climbing in New Hampshire, and shooting sports at the Maynard Rod and Gun Club. In July our troop attends a week of resident summer camp, with a program designed to provide challenge, advancement opportunities and fun for Scouts of all ages. Scouts choose activities from a wide assortment of opportunities such as swimming, canoeing, athletics, archery, wilderness survival, cooking, and many more!
 

Our activity program also offers Troop 63 Scouts numerous opportunities to participate in community service activities, including a monthly troop-level Good Turn event. Periodically our Scouts will compete in a contest to see who can earn the most community service hours. High adventure is an important part of the Scouting experience. Each summer, Troop 63 sends a contingent of Scouts on an extended adventure at one of the four National High Adventure Bases operated by the Boy Scouts of America. A few of the possibilities include sailing in the Bahamas, canoeing in remote wilderness, hiking the rugged Rocky Mountains backcountry, or mountain biking in West Virginia.
